Flood 22 May 2009
Yet another flood for this year. I think we are going to be in for a record wet in this area!

Flood 1 April 2009
No April fool joke this one. It’s the biggest flood we have seen so far from the Bellinger river on 31
Mar / 1 Apr 09. Our kids were brought home from school late morning due to the forecast and continuous rain. By the time both
Marg & I left Coffs Harbour it was too late! The Pacific Highway was closed and I ended up being able to get home only by fording
through back roads at Toormina and then cutting through the Bongil Bongil National Park on fire trail roads. I managed to get within
40m of our house before finally getting bogged in the mud and fast flowing water on the walking trail at the rear of our house. Follow

Flood 17 February 2009
Looks like the big wet is on this year. It normally only floods when the Bellinger River receives high
rainfall and there is a very high tide (full moon). A cyclone off Queensland will do it! This is not the highest flood we have seen,
but it was not far off! In 2001, the flood was another 2 ft or more higher. See our local photos by following the link on the
side of this page.
This was the year that we entered Bogong from the Mulhauser track. I remember it was pretty wet and miserable. My brand new backpack turned out to be not so waterproof and I was soon carrying a wet sleeping bag amongst other things up the mountain. I certainly felt it that year as my diet precluded me from consuming much in the way of carbohydrates.
I was glad the lads looked out for me - it was a pretty hard slog. Still, where there is a will there's a way - I got there, and what a great week it turned out to be. Here is Bluestone giving the traditional reading ... By the end of the week we were all in fine form and even managed a few classic photos. There was some great fresh powder snow through the week and this gave me some excellent photo opportunities.
Some unreal snow & lots of us crammed into a hut for a week - priceless! See the complete photo album at Mt Bogong 2005
How BIG is that!! An excellent year of deep powder snow tempted some extreme skiing. Big Al shows he has connections and gets a heli escort. Disnek was handy to coordinate. We meet the 7 dwarfs. See all the action at Mt Bogong 2004
Big bushfires earlier in the year gave an errie change to the moutain and opened up whole new areas to ski. TD brings his cat. The boys have snow cones for Liam. There is a lot more to see at Mt Bogong 2003
The Spadcha Boys were in their element this year at Mt Bogong. Some fantastic weather which finished with a gruelling exit via Staircase. A complete set of photos is at Mt Bogong 2001
I have been inspired to share some of my adventures. This blog is a collection of a few of them and I hope you enjoy coming on some interesting journeys ....
