This was the year that we entered Bogong from the Mulhauser track. I remember it was pretty wet and miserable. My brand new backpack turned out to be not so waterproof and I was soon carrying a wet sleeping bag amongst other things up the mountain. I certainly felt it that year as my diet precluded me from consuming much in the way of carbohydrates.
I was glad the lads looked out for me - it was a pretty hard slog. Still, where there is a will there's a way - I got there, and what a great week it turned out to be. Here is Bluestone giving the traditional reading ... 
By the end of the week we were all in fine form and even managed a few classic photos. 
There was some great fresh powder snow through the week and this gave me some excellent photo opportunities.
